Dying Light 2: Should You Side With Matt or Juan? Answered

Most of the narrative choices you’re faced with in Dying Light 2 clearly side your allegiance with either Peacekeepers or Survivors, but there are also internal politics in both factions that you’ll become caught up in. One notable example of this is after you have reached the Central Loop and met with Jack Matt, who reveals his plan to bring the VNC Tower back online. Here’s whether you should side with Matt or Juan in Dying Light 2.

Should You Side With Matt or Juan in Dying Light 2

While there aren’t too many branching dialog choices that completely lock you out of a storyline with a single decision, this is actually one of them. If you choose to betray Matt in his office and side with Juan, you won’t be able to advance your relationship with Matt any further. So, for those who aren’t sure whether or not they want to keep working with Matt and the Peacekeepers, don’t side with Juan.

As for the consequences of this decision, it’s hard to explain without going into Dying Light 2 spoilers, but the long and the short of it is that if you do side with Juan, you won’t have to hand over the resource to him. You can give it to another faction, but it isn’t Matt. Also, if you’re worried about not finding Aiden’s sister, don’t worry: this storyline will conclude similarly regardless of which you choose.

This decision ultimately boils down to whether you care about the Peacekeepers. If you don’t, side with Juan. If you do or you’re unsure, stick with Matt (for the time being only if you like).

That should give you an overview of what conditions should determine whether you side with Matt or Juan in Dying Light 2. For more tips, tricks, and guides, head over to our upcoming wiki, search for Twinfinite, or see more of our coverage on the game below.
