While Rainbow Six Extraction can be played on your own, it’s certainly more enjoyable when playing with friends or other players. If you don’t all have headsets or cannot use your microphones for whatever reason, you’ll likely want at least another basic way to quickly communicate in-game. Here’s how to use Rainbow Six Extraction’s chat wheel and quick chat options.
Opening & Using the Chat Wheel
- Open the chat wheel by pressing and holding up on the d-pad on consoles.
On PC, this can be done by pressing and holding the ‘Ping’ key, assigned to ‘Z’ by default.
- Still holding up on d-pad/ Z, use the right analog stick (or your mouse) to select the chat response you want to use from the wheel.
In the example here, we’ve selected ‘Countdown.’
- With the response you want selected, let go of up on d-pad/ Z and your character will make an audible comment based on what you selected.
This will also be put in the chat window on the left-hand side of your screen, should any of your teammates not have their sound on.
All Rainbow Six Extraction Chat Wheel Responses
- Need health
- Thank you
- No
- Sorry
- Need ammo
- Regroup
- Acknowledged
- Countdown
The Countdown option will start a three-second timer in the chat, which can be used effectively to co-ordinate a simultaneous attack between you and your team on the parasitic threat. This will appear on the left-hand side of the screen in the chat window once selected.
