How to Add Crossplay Friends in Battlefield 2042

First things first let’s explain the crossplay limitations in Battlefield 2042. The last-gen consoles are limited to crossplay with themselves (AKA PS4 and Xbox One), as they have restrictions on player size and, in a sense, are playing a different game. However, PS5 and Xbox Series X players can play with them if they download the last-gen version of the game, if that’s something you were determined to do. Otherwise, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC players can all play the current-gen version of the game via crossplay.

Crossplay is on by default and if you want to add crossplay friends to your game, you first need to actually be cross-platform friends. You can add them by going to the Social tab in Battlefield 2042 and then searching for your friend’s EA ID (get it from them if you don’t know them).

Once you’ve both added each other as friends, you can then invite them from the Social tab like you would anyone else on your friend’s list by starting up a new party and inviting them using the invite option. It’s as simple as that once you have each other added as friends and are playing on crossplay compatible platforms for Battlefield 2042.

That’s everything you need to know about how to add crossplay friends in Battlefield 2042. For more tips, tricks, and guides be sure to check out Twinfinite.
