Breeding new Pokemon adds a fun layer to the gameplay experience, and it’s been a part of the series since the Silver and Gold games. The mechanic has improved and become more involved since, but the process of how one actually hatches the egg has remained more or less the same. Here’s how long it takes to hatch an egg in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
How Long it Takes to Hatch an Egg in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl
Hatching eggs in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl simply requires you to be carrying the egg and walking a certain number of steps. The number of steps required differs depending on the Pokemon, but in any case, it’s a time-consuming process.
The minimum number of steps is 1,000, while some Pokemon require up to 2,500. You will want to use your pedometer app to keep tabs on how many steps you’ve taken.
Now, there are a few ways to speed up the process of hatching an egg. Namely, if you carry a pocket monster with either Flame Body or Magma Armor in your party along with the egg. Doing so will decrease the number of required steps by half.
Pocket Monsters include Ponyta, Rapidash, Magby, Magmar, Magmortar, and several others.
One other useful tip for hatching eggs is that instead of walking to achieve steps, you can simply ride your bicycle, which is obviously much quicker.
That should give you everything you need to know about how long it takes to hatch an egg in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. For more useful tips and guides on the game, be sure to check out our guide wiki. You should also see some related content below that may prove helpful.
