Microsoft’s subscription service has fast become the industry standard largely because of the publisher’s commitment to delivering anticipated games day-and-date with physical launches, and so it’s no surprise to see many wondering whether Battlefield 2042 Xbox Game Pass. Here’s what you need to know.
Is Battlefield 2042 on Game Pass? Answered
This is a confusing one, as the answer is both yes and no. Battlefield 2042 is coming to Game Pass, but only as a trial. Starting from today, Nov. 12, Game Pass subscribers will be able to download and install a 10-hour Early Access trial period, offering them the chance to try All-Out Warfare, Hazard Zone, and the community-driven Battlefield Portal game modes ahead of the game’s full launch.
However, the full version of the game is not coming to Game Pass. You will instead need to purchase the standalone version of the game via a traditional storefront in order to pick up from where you left off during the Game Pass trial.
Of course, in the long term, that’s likely to change. Most EA games tend to come to EA’s own subscription service, EA Play, a year or so after launch, and it’s highly likely it will then also be made available on Game Pass.
