Dodge and Evade Attacks in Guardians of the Galaxy

The combat in Guardians of the Galaxy is pretty fast-paced and frenetic, requiring you to watch enemy movements and react accordingly. With so many different abilities at your disposal, you can counteract in various different ways, but regardless of who or what you’re facing, you’ll still need to know how to dodge out of harm’s way.

To perform a dodge in Guardians of the Galaxy, all you have to do is hit the circle button (or B button if you’re on Xbox) to evade and get out of the way. This is definitely something you’ll get used to as you play, as the enemies can move pretty quickly and you’ll often need to dodge before you’re able to counterattack.

Alternatively, you can also use Star-Lord’s thruster boots to launch him up in the air as a way to avoid damage. You can’t do this forever, of course, but it will let you disengage from combat and buy you a bit of time as you figure out how you want to respond to the situation.

To use his thruster boots and fly up into the air, all you have to do is press in the right analog stick to hit the L3 button, then press the X or A button depending on your platform to start hovering. It’s also possible to use his thruster boots outside of combat by pressing the X or A button twice, which will allow you to double jump to reach higher areas.

That’s all you need to know about how to dodge and evade attacks in Guardians of the Galaxy. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
