Earlier today, Pokemon Unite producer, Masaaki Hoshino, announced a handful of improvements and changes coming to the game tomorrow when the mobile version launches. The updates are of course planned for the mobile version, but will also be coming to the Nintendo Switch version of the game at the same time.
Thanks to the millions of people or more that pre-registered for Pokemon Unite on iOS and Android, players of the game will be able to get at least one thousand Aeos Tickets, a Pikachu Unite License, and Pikachu’s festival Holowear just for downloading the game.
On top of that, cross-play and cross-progression will both be added to the game with tomorrow’s update. All you’ll need to do is link your account on the Switch to a Nintendo account or Pokemon Trainer Club account. If you want to go from mobile to Switch, then you’ll still need to connect to one of those accounts.
As expected, Hoshino confirmed that they will continue to add new Pokemon to the game along with frequent balance patches, themed events, and new battle passes.
And in the biggest news, there will be three new updates all focused on items. First, there will be new events that will let players earn Super Item Enhancers. This new type of Enhancer will let a player fully upgrade a held item to grade 30. Better yet, this update will also make it easier for all players to earn Item Enhancers.
Before getting to the third item update here are all of the other changes Hoshino announced to be launching tomorrow:
- The introduction of Unite squads, allowing Trainers to team up with squadmates.
- A second battle pass, which will feature all-new cosmetic items, including new Holowear with special visual effects.
- The rollout of some limited Spectator Mode features.
- Support for multiple new languages.
Finally, Hoshino announced that brand-new held items will be coming to the game starting tomorrow. As he said, they expect these items to, “…introduce fresh strategies.”
Pokemon Unite is currently available on Nintendo Switch and the mobile version of the game launches tomorrow, Sept. 22, on iOS and Android along with the latest update on all platforms. If you would like to check out the official message from producer Masaaki Hoshino, you can find it right here.
