Unreal Engine 5 Early Access Begins; New Trailer Reveals Incredible Graphical Features

The power of next-generation hardware is only ever going to be equal to the graphical engines that make use of them, and that’s why Epic’s Unreal Engine 5 is so exciting: the new engine more or less kicked the generation off last year in a PS5 tech demonstration that showcased incredible potential. Today, that engine is entering Early Access, giving developers their first opportunity to start building a new generation of games.

A new trailer has today put a detailed spotlight on all its features, giving us an even greater look at just how brilliant Unreal Engine 5 games are set to look moving forward. A YouTube description explains:

In this video, Chance Ivey, Senior Technical Designer at Epic Games and Galen Davis, Producer/Evangelist for Quixel at Epic Games provide a first look at the game development tools and workflows available in Unreal Engine 5 Early Access before exploring our newest sample project titled “Valley of the Ancient” – a rich and practical example of how the new features in Unreal Engine 5 Early Access can be used.

In related news, last month, Xbox first-party studio The Coalition announced plans to shift its future development to Unreal Engine’s latest engine as it looks toward building games for the Xbox Series X|S.
