Destiny 2 Cross-Play Beta Now Live, Will Run Until May 27

destiny 2

Bungie accidentally made the cross-play functionality for Destiny 2 live and available for all players at the start of the season, and they’ve since pulled it back. However, at the time of writing, you can now check out a beta version of Destiny 2’s cross-play via a Vanguard strike playlist.

A couple of things to note: this beta is meant to just target the matchmaking features of cross-play, which means that cross-play is only available within this strike playlist, and you won’t be able to invite any of your friends to your fireteam during this period. Think of it as a stress test; Bungie also stated that they’re aiming to release cross-play functionality with season 15 in Destiny 2.

In addition to that, players who complete three strikes in the playlist will be rewarded with the Stars Crossed emblem as a token of appreciation.

Destiny 2 is now available on PC, consoles, and Stadia.
