How to Get New Armor in Mass Effect 1

As with most roleplaying games, the usual way you can go about getting new armor in the Mass Effect games is through various NPCs in the different games.

In Mass Effect 1, players can obtain new armor from containers found around the world or by visiting vendors around the galaxy and purchasing armor straight up from them. For both Commander Shepherd and the rest of the squad, you can choose from a variety of options to outfit your best crew.

While Humans get a wide variety of armor to choose from, alien races need to wear armor that fits them specifically, so make sure that you’re paying close attention to that when buying and equipping armor throughout the game.

Getting New Armor in Mass Effect 2 and 3

In Mass Effect 2 and 3, the variety has been reduced, but the armor pieces are more unique and distinct.

Rather than provide stat bonuses and being distinctly better from one piece to another, the armor sets are designed to suit different play styles with their different bonuses. If you have a specific way of enjoying the latter games, you can find the right armor set to help you with it.
