Illumina Orbs are an important part of making progress in New Pokemon Snap. They can be used to make Pokemon behave differently, and there is a different colored Illumina Orb on every island in the game. However, you won’t be able to use each island’s Illumina Orb until you’ve helped Professor Mirror with some research first. Belusylva Island requires some specific research before you can start using the island’s orb. Here’s how to unlock Belusylva Island’s Illumina Orb in New Pokemon Snap.
How to Unlock Belusylva Island’s Illumina Orb
After conducting enough research on New Pokemon Snap’s first island, you’ll move onto Belusylva Island’s jungle course called Founja Jungle. After you increase your research level, the night version of the course will unlock.
After visiting the jungle course at night, you’ll receive a research task from Professor Mirror. He’ll ask you to take a picture of a glowing Crystabloom flower in order to research the Illumina phenomenon.
At first, the flower on the course won’t be glowing and won’t count as a photo for the research. Eventually, though, once you level up the course to research level two, the course will change slightly.
At research level two, you’ll follow a Leafeon through the course, and at the end, it will lie down to the right side next to a Crystabloom flower. This flower will be glowing, and you can take a picture of it to count for Professor Mirror’s research.
If you’re having trouble finding the glowing Crystabloom flower in Founja Jungle, it looks like this:
Be sure to select the photo to show to Professor Mirror just like you would for a Pokemon photo. He’ll be happy with the glowing effect, and in return you’ll be given Illumina Orbs that can be used on any course on Belusylva Island.
