Nier Replicant is the reworked version of the original game that released way back in 2011 as a Japan-exclusive. With reworked visuals, soundtrack and a few gameplay tweaks and refinements, Nier Replicant Ver. 1.22 is the definitive way to play this epic adventure. While you’ll be hacking and slashing your way through plenty of bad guys, sometimes it’s nice to kick back and do a spot of fishing. Nier Replicant’s Hyneria is one of the trickier fish to catch, and in this guide we’ll explain how you can reel one in for yourself.
How to Catch Hyneria in Nier Replicant
The Hyneria can be caught by fishing from the shore where the fast travel boat is in Seafront.
Before you head over here, we recommend heading over to the Bait Shop at Seafront and stocking up on Sardines, as these are the only bait you can use to catch a Hyneria.
Once you’ve got your Sardines, it’s simply a case of heading to the fast travel boat shore and constantly fishing with the bait.
To use your fishing rod, walk over to the shore and press Circle on PlayStation or B on Xbox to cast your line out. You now need to wait until you get a bite. You’ll know you’ve got a bite when you start to see the rod bend. When this happens, press Circle/ B again to hook the fish.
At this point, you’ve then got to pull the rod in the opposite direction (using the left analog stick) that the fish is moving in order to reduce its HP. Once the HP bar hits zero, you’ll reel in the fish.
The Hyneria has a very low chance of appearing, so don’t expect to catch it on your first try.
