Today Microsoft announced the Age of Empires Fan Preview event that will be hosted next month.
It’ll be livestreamed on April 10 at 9:00 am PDT, 12:00 am EDT, 5:00 pm BST, or 6:00 pm CEST, and it’ll be obviously dedicated to the Age of Empire franchise.
Fans can expect to see the first gameplay and civilizations from Age of Empires IV alongside news for both Age of Empires II Definitive Edition and Age of Empires III Definitive Edition.
We also get a teaser trailer, which you can see below.
Age of Empires II and III Definitive Edition are currently available for PC.
At the moment, we don’t know much about Age of Empires IV. It was revealed all the way back in 2019, and it’s being developed by Relic Entertainment and World’s Edge.
At long last, something seems to be moving toward a new beginning for the long-lasting franchise that debuted in 1997 with the original Age of Empires.
Almost sixteen years have passed since the launch of Age of Empires III in October 2005, so I’d say that times are mature for a new chapter.
It’ll be interesting to see if we’ll also get the announcement of an Xbox version of the game or its predecessors.
