How to Interrupt Bosses in Outriders

Boss characters, or “Altered Elites,” are able to use unique abilities that are similar to your own. In the prologue of the game, your character becomes Altered, which basically means that they won the superpower lottery. The same is true for Altered Elites.

These bosses will occasionally use high-powered skills. But before they can, they have to fill up a casting bar. When an orange casting bar appears above the enemy’s head, that’s your chance to strike with an interrupt ability.

Each of the four classes has its own abilities that can be used specifically to interrupt Outriders bosses as they cast their strongest moves. Simply head over to the Skills menu to figure out which ability you should be using in those moments. For example, Tricksters have the Temporal Blade.

Interrupts are made even easier if you’re playing with a friend or two. The difficulty for the fight will scale, but you should be able to keep bosses in check as you work to defeat them.

However, it’s important to note that certain skills can’t be interrupted, no matter which moves you use. Whenever a boss is surrounded by a blue aura, it means that none of your abilities will work against them for a short period of time. That’s your cue to go on the defensive and wait it out.

That’s everything you need to know about how to interrupt bosses in Outriders. If you act fast enough, more often than not, you should be able to interrupt any boss that starts casting powerful attacks during the fight.
