During Ubisoft’s quarterly financial conference call for investors and analysts, the publisher’s executives talked about future plans.
Commenting on the fact that the game recorded record revenue for the franchise (for now, Assassin’s Creed 3 still sold more in terms of the number of copies), chief executive officer Yves Guillemot mentioned that the game is also the greatest Ubisoft game ever in terms of digital sales and PRI.
Ubisoft intends to maintain this momentum with a “significantly longer and stronger post-launch content roadmap” with both free and paid content. Later in the call, we heard that the roadmap for additional content is bigger than Odyssey’s.
Interestingly, Guillemot also talked about the success of Immortal Fenix Rising, which was defined as suitable to the Nintendo Switch fanbase. The publisher expects it to have “very long legs.”
Chief financial officer Frédérick Duguet also talked about the next fiscal year (from April 2021 to March 2022).
Duguet mentioned that the release slate will include free-to-play games and “numerous paid titles” including three triple-A games.
Known releases are Far Cry 6, Rainbow Six Quarantine (both in the first half of the fiscal year, which means August at the latest), Skull and Bones, Rider’s Republic, the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, and Rollers Champions.
He also added that “a few other surprises are in the works and will be revealed in due time” and later in the call, he clarified that no decision has been taken about the pricing for these games (in response to a question asking if they’ll cost $70).
