Persona 5 Strikers: How to Use Items During Battle

Persona 5 Strikers, How to Use Items During Battle

Persona 5 Strikers is fairly good about explaining its mechanics, but it isn’t without its confusing or obtuse elements. Case in point: you’ll be encouraged to stock up on as many items as possible, but once you get into battle, it won’t be super obvious how you’re supposed to use them. That’s why we’re here to help with a guide on how to use items during battle in Persona 5 Strikers.

Note that this will only cover how to use restoratives like food items and medicine to replenish your health and SP. For info on how to use Incense items – and when you can or can’t use them – be sure to check out our guide on how to use Incense and what it does here.

How to Use Items During Battle in Persona 5 Strikers

While in combat, all you need to do is press the Options button on PlayStation 4, or the Plus or Minus buttons on Nintendo Switch. Doing so will bring up a sub menu where you can select items from your inventory to use on your character of choice.

This will also pause Persona 5 Strikers while you’re making selections, meaning you won’t have to worry about a character being knocked out while you’re trying to heal them.

Best of all is that there’s no wind-up animation or delay between using an item and your party members being healed, so you can use exploits like healing characters right before a deadly attack without worry. You won’t be restricted from using items if your character is stunned or paralyzed by a status effect as well, so you can always heal negative effects as soon as they’re inflicted on you.

That’s all there is to it really. As stated above, it’s very easy to use when you know what to do, and it’ll prove invaluable to your success as you make your way through the game.

Hopefully this cleared up how to use items during battle in Persona 5 Strikers. For more on the game, check out our wiki, or see more of our coverage below.
