Persona 5 Strikers, Are There Social Links? Answered

If you’re like the majority of other Persona 5 fans, you’ve probably been chomping at the bit to interact with the cast again through Persona 5 Strikers. With all of the new elements it introduces though – and the old elements it strips away – a question may have started popping up in your head: Are there Social Links in Persona 5 Strikers?

Well, for better or worse, we’ve done the leg work and found the answers you’re looking for.

To make things brief, no, there are no social links in Persona 5 Strikers.

Instead, the mechanic has been replaced by the Bond system, a more universal mechanic that measures how close you are to the Phantom Thieves group as a whole.

It increases through actions and activities like completing requests for each of the Phantom Thieves’ members, reaching integral points in the story and defeating the game’s bosses.

It’ll admittedly be a little disappointing if you really enjoyed the Social Link and Confidants mechanics from Persona 5, but it’s far from a flawed change to the core makeup of the series.

Can You Hang out With Characters Individually?

Likewise, the lack of Social Links in Persona 5 Strikers doesn’t mean you can’t hang out with characters individually.

At certain points in the game, you’ll be able to choose who you hang out with out of the group for special events.

These include things like riding a Ferris wheel and going to the top of major landmarks in certain cities. Once there, you’ll get special dialogue specific to each character related to their views regarding the story.

Likewise, you can accept special Requests from the Phantom Thieves’ members which tie into their own personal adventures that are going on during the story. Completing them boosts your Bond level, and will unlock special bonuses from each Phantom Thieves member later on.

That’s all there is to know about whether or not there are social links in Persona 5 Strikers. For more on the game, check out our Persona 5 Strikers wiki.
