Today Nintendo announced its quarterly financial results for the nine-month period ended on December 31, 2021.
First of all, we learn that the console manufacturer’s results were extremely solid, recording a +37.3% increase year-on-year in sales and a massive +98.2% increase in operating profit year-on-year.
The percentage of sales outside of Japan was 77.6%

The super-solid results prompted Nintendo to increase its full-year forecast for both sales and operating income by 14.3% and 24.4% respectively compared to the already-boosted forecast provided in November.
We learn that Animal Crossing: New Horizon has shipped 31.18 million units life-to-date, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has shipped 33.42 million units, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is at 21.45 million units, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is at 22.85 million units, Pokémon Sword & Shield is at 20.35 million units, and among newer releases, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity shipped 2.84 million units.
Mobile and IP income was 42.0 billion, up 13.8% year-on-year.
