Cyberpunk 2077’s Latest Patch Is Breaking a Main Story Mission for Some Players

cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 has been having a pretty rough time since its launch last December. Its performance was poor on last-gen consoles, and CD Projekt Red pushed out patch 1.1 over the weekend –a major update that aimed to fix most of the performance issues. While it does seem to have improved the gameplay experience overall, there is a new bug that can break a story mission if you’re not careful.

During the mission titled Down on the Street, players are supposed to receive a call from Takemura. However, the new patch can make it such that players do receive the call, but Takemura ends up not saying anything over the phone, thereby halting progress in the mission.

There is, however, a workaround for the issue. If you’re on the mission, call Judy if you haven’t gotten the call from Takemura yet. Then, when Takemura calls, hang up and go do a side quest in the game. After that, pass 24 hours in-game and Takemura should call you back, and the mission should progress as intended.

There’s no official word from CD Projekt Red on whether there’s a hotfix coming for this bug just yet, but for now, it’s best to be aware of this bug and take the necessary precautions.
