The road to Pokemon GO Tour: Kanto is about to reach its final stop before the big event takes place on Feb. 20. The details for this last detour were just revealed by Niantic earlier today. This next event will take players through the second generation of Pokemon from the region of Johto.
When the Johto Countdown Celebration kicks off on Jan. 26 at 10 AM local time, you’ll be able to find many different Pokemon originally discovered in the Johto region in the wild, eggs, raids, and research encounters. Below is a list of the ‘mons that will be appearing for this event (* indicates a chance of a shiny encounter).
- Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Mareep, Hoppip, Aipom, Sunkern, Yanma, Murkrow, Gligar, Snubbull, Slugma, Miltank*, and more will be appearing more frequently in the wild.
- The following Pokémon will be hatching from 5 km Eggs: Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Wooper, Tyrogue, Smoochum, and Larvitar.
- Field Research tasks will initiate encounters with Pokémon such as Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Chinchou, Mareep, Sudowoodo, and Miltank.
- The following Pokémon will be appearing in raids:
- Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Mareep, Marill, and Larvitar will be appearing in one-star raids.
- Togetic, Espeon, Umbreon, Skarmory, and Miltank will be appearing in three-star raids.
- Entei will be appearing in Legendary raids.
- Complete the Johto-themed Collection Challenge during the event by collecting Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Sudowoodo, Sunkern, Murkrow, Smeargle, Miltank, and Larvitar to receive 15 Poké Balls, 10 Ultra Balls, and an Incense.
After the Johto Countdown Celebration ends on Jan. 31 at 8 PM local time, Raikou and Suicine will also be appearing in Legendary from Jan. 31 to Feb. 4 and from Feb. 4 until Feb. 9, respectively.
After that last date, it will only be 11 days until Pokemon GO Tour: Kanto. Tickets for the event can be purchased in the in-game Shop for $11.99 USD. And if you purchase the ticket before Feb. 3 at 11:59 PM PT, then you’ll get the Roselia Community Day Special Research story for free.
