hitman 3 hide illegal items

It’s all well and good wandering around Hitman 3’s glorious locations, doing your best to take everyone out with an assault rifle, but it’s not going to end well for Agent 47 that way. In some missions, you’ll be frisked before entering restricted areas, but you won’t be let in if you’re carrying a restricted item, which is shown by a red exclamation mark by it both in your inventory and by the icon in the bottom right of the screen. When frisked, guards will even find pistols that aren’t obviously visible. You’ll want to put them somewhere that can be returned to later on.

The first and most obvious thing is to drop it somewhere. Simply press down on the d-pad with it equipped and Agent 47 will drop it. However, in particularly heavily guarded areas, you’ll be attacked simply for dropping restricted items if you’re seen.

Alternatively, you can hide illegal items in Hitman 3’s trashcans. Walk over to one that’ll you’ll remember the location of, hold Y if you’re on Xbox (triangle on PlayStation) and Agent 47 will hide the gun. You’ll then be able to go back to it at any time and press the same button to get it back. Careful you’re not seen doing so though.

By taking out particular NPCs in some levels and as an unlock once you’ve completed enough challenges, you’ll also be able to get a briefcase, in which you can hide restricted items that won’t be found and cannot be seen on you.

Finally, as you level up your mastery in a location (usually started after you complete it once) you’ll unlock the ability to send illegal items to secret caches before starting a mission, allowing you to pick them up for particular locations as and when you want them. If you put a restricted item in one as part of the pre-level planning process, you’ll know where to find it at all times.
