After over 8 years, CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 is finally upon us. While its map may not be as huge and sprawling as The Witcher 3’s, there’s still a ton of content packed into the tight, claustrophobic streets of Night City. While the game will clearly run best on a high-end PC, some players may be wondering about Cyberpunk 2077 PS4 Pro and Xbox One X enhancements.

Well the good news is that yes, the game will run significantly better on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X over the base systems themselves. Many fans are already concerned as to how well the game will play on base PS4’s and Xbox One’s given critics have cited bugs and performance problems even when playing on high-end PCs.

Cyberpunk 2077 PS4 Pro and Xbox One X Enhancements Explained

On the PS4 Pro, Xbox One X, and the two next-gen systems (PS5 and Series X), Cyberpunk 2077 will have Performance and Quality modes, according to a leak over on Reddit.

While the leak comes via someone playing the game on Xbox Series X, we’d hazard a guess that these different modes will also be present on the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro, as they’ve appeared in other major AAA titles.

The Quality mode will focus on maintaining a high resolution and image quality. This may add a tiny amount of additional detail the world and characters, but the framerate will take a hit as a result.

Performance mode focuses on maintaining a higher framerate to allow for smoother gameplay as you’re exploring Night City. The author of the leak suggests that the game aims for 60fps in performance mode on Xbox Series X, though there are some dips when things get intense.

While it’s unlikely that the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X will manage to hit 60fps when running Cyberpunk 2077, performance mode will still focus on ensuring your framerate remains nice and smooth, but will scale down the resolution of the image to make up for it.

Once we’ve got our hands on Cyberpunk 2077 on consoles, we’ll provide any additional details you need to know regarding these enhancements.
