Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: All Book of Knowledge Locations (Abilities)

Just as in previous recent Assassin’s Creed games, players have access to a wide range of different combat abilities in Valhalla. But unlike Origins and Odyssey before it, none of these are available without exploring and locating them around the map. Here we’ve compiled a handy list of all book of knowledge locations in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla so that you can get all the abilities.

All Book of Knowledge Locations in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Below you’ll find the full list, which details the abilities’ name, location, and any additional instructions we think are helpful in finding them. There are accompanying images that show their map location, too.

Throwing Axe – Norway, Rygjafylke

Head to the location above and use your Odin’s Sight to ping the Book of Knowledge. You’ll find it easy enough.

Thorn of Slumber – Norway, Rygjafylke

Head to the location above and use your Odin’s Sight to ping the Book of Knowledge. You’ll find it easy enough.

Mark of Death – Norway, Alrekstad

This ability requires a nearby cellar key you can find by using your Odin’s Sight.

Dive of the Valkyries – Grantebridgescire

This ability is under the Isle of Ely Monastery. You’ll need to find the cave entrance to the east by the water.

Mark of Death Upgrade – Medlebrune, Grantebridgescire

You’ll likely find this one during the Medlebrune Raid. It’s in a tower that you’ll have to kill the guard for the key.

Axe Blizzard – East Anglia, just southeast of Northwic

This Book of Knowledge is atop an abandoned church building.

Harpoon Impalement – Venonis, Ledercesterescire

To find this Book of Knowledge, descend a ladder in the middle of the ruin to enter the tomb. Continue through until you reach a breakable wall, pass through, enter water and up the other side, blow up another breakable wall, grab the book.

Raven Distraction – Tonnastadir, Ledercesterescire

You’ll need to find the key first, which is due east of the tomb entrance.

Piercing Shot – Templeborough Castle

This one is located in the central castle area. Use your Odin’s Sight to pulse and you’ll find it easy enough.

Focus of the Nornir – Ofchurch, Ledercesterscire

Head to the location above and use your Odin’s Sight to ping the Book of Knowledge. You’ll find it easy enough.

Ranged Poison Strike – Assassin’s Bureau

No location for this one since it’s given to you by Hythem after making some headway taking out some Order of the Ancients.

Incendiary Powder Trap – Walden, in the Church

Head to the location above and use your Odin’s Sight to ping the Book of Knowledge. You’ll find it easy enough.

Rush & Bash – Ravensburg, Top of the Fort

For this ability you’ll need to eliminate the guard for the key.

Rush and Bash Upgrade – Dunwic Castle, East Anglia

To get this Book of Knowledge, you must get the key, then blow a hole in the breakable floor nearby, then drop down and move the crate, and finally enter its location.

Blinding Rush – Ruined Tower, East Anglia

Head to the location above and use your Odin’s Sight to ping the Book of Knowledge. You’ll find it easy enough.

Fein Death – Oxenfordscire, Leah VIlla Garrison

To get this ability you’ll need to find the key first, which is in the large building opposite on a table.

Throwing Axe Fury Upgrade – Caustow Castle, Sciropscire

Need to grab a oil barrel from nearby to breakdown the wall.

Thorn of Slumber Upgrade – Dover Castle, Cent

First you’ll need the key, which requires you to climb the tower behind the building. It’s right at the top.

Emergency Aim – Obtained via the Skill Tree

You just need to pour points into the Skill Tree. To get this one, head right from the starting point along the blue line of upgrades. It is right of the starting point, along the blue tree line.

Fire Strike – Assassin’s Bureau

Hythem will give this to you after you’ve eliminated enough members of The Order.

Incendiary Power Trap Upgrade – Briggworth, Suthsexe

Raven’s Distraction Upgrade – Belesduna Bandit Camp, Essexe

Rage of Helheim – Jorvik

This one is found in a church, just west of Jorvik.

Poisonous Powder Trap – Eurvicscire, Southeast of Jorvik

Fein Death Upgrade – Glowecestrescire, Bandit Camp

This Book of Knowledge is southeast of Jorvik underneath an old Roman ruin. It’s a little tricky to find because it requires breaking some walls, swimming, and forcing a door open. You will visit this location with Halfdan during the Eurvicscire questline, so best to leave it until then.

Axe Blizzard Upgrade – Wincestre Garrison

Poisonous Powder Trap Upgrade – Odin’s Mine, Snotinghamscire

This one is fairly easy to find, but you will have to pass through a breakable wall before shooting out another made of ice to reach the room that houses it.

Kick of Tyr – Ulkerthorpe Fort, Snotinghamscire
