How to Get Cipher Decoders in Destiny 2: Festival of the Lost 2020

Before we break down how to get Cipher Decoders, we should first talk a little bit about what they are and what they are used for.

Cipher Decoders are a brand new item added into Destiny 2 via the 2020 Festival of the Lost event. They aren’t particular flashy, but they are important. What they do is allow you to open optional caches AKA chests that are in the Haunted Forest activity.

These optional caches can contain items such as legendary gear, random rolls of the Braytech Werewolf and Horror Story, masks, and Festival of the Lost shaders.

To get more Cipher Decoders you’ll need to grind out activities as they can be obtained via random world drops or by completing other activities outside of the Haunted Forest. In other words, balance your time in and outside of the Haunted Forest this Festival of the Lost and you’ll make the most out of each.

That’s all you need to know for how to get Cipher Decoders in Destiny 2 for Festival of the Lost 2020. For more on Festival of the Lost, keep an eye on our latest Destiny 2 content right here.
