Genshin Impact’s character leveling system is capped in stages, requiring players to “Ascend” their characters at a specific number in order to continue progression. In each case, different materials are required to initiate the process. Here’s how to beat Oceanids in Genshin Impact so that you can farm Cleansing Hearts.
Where to Find Oceanids in Genshin Impact
As alluded to above, Cleansing Hearts are necessary ascension materials. Specifically, they’re required to Ascend both Mona and Barabara, two of Genshin Impact’s 5-Star characters.
But in order to get Cleansing Hearts, you’ll need to locate and defeat Oceanids, a particularly tricky enemy boss-type located near Qingce Village, Liyue. You can see the location above where one is found.
How to Beat Oceanids in Genshin Impact
Oceanids are fairly tough bosses and you shouldn’t attempt beating them without proper preparation. Make sure you have revival items and one Electro elemental character, or at the very least a Pyro character.
As you’ve probably discovered, you don’t actually fight Oceanid but its Hydro minions; each wave of minion killed damages Oceanid.
The minions themselves are susceptible to both Pyro and Electro damage, but the latter is far more effective. Lisa’s with her ult and AoE attacks are useful here, though even when you’re landing big damage the minion’s ability to heal is frustrating and can lead to a lengthy battle.
The trick is to prevent the minions from walking on the water that surrounds the platform you’re battling on. Of course, Oceanid will make things hard for you by destroying several of the platforms at the end of each wave.
Once you’ve killed Oceanid you’ll get a Cleansing Heart that you can use to Ascend whoever you’re working towards.
That should be everything you need to know about how to beat Oceanids in Genshin Impact so that you can farm Cleansing Hearts. For more useful tips and guides on the game, check out Twinfinite’s ever-expanding guide wiki.
