During a September Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase, Capcom announced a brand-new entry in the long-running Monster Hunter franchise titled Monster Hunter Rise. Considering that the most recent MH title, Monster Hunter World, came to consoles such as the PS4 and Xbox One, you might be wondering what’s the deal with Rise. Here’s everything you need to know about whether Monster Hunter Rise is coming to PS5.
Is Monster Hunter Rise Coming to PS5?
I hate to be the bearer of bad news for those looking for a PS5 version of Monster Hunter Rise, because there will not be one, at least for now. Monster Hunter Rise was announced as a Nintendo Switch exclusive and will not be releasing on any other platforms, including Sony’s upcoming next-gen console, the PS5.
Rise was built from the ground-up for the hybrid console and there’s a very, very small chance that the game will end up on other consoles.
This also isn’t the first time that Capcom released an exclusive Monster Hunter title on a Nintendo platform. Monster Hunter Tri (3) was originally a Wii exclusive and then the Ultimate version later came to Wii U and 3DS, but it never hit PS4, Xbox One, or PC; and this isn’t the only instance.
But if Capcom does decide to release Rise on the PS5 down the line, we will be sure to update this post accordingly as soon as we find out.
Hopefully that answered your question as to whether Monster Hunter Rise is coming to PS5.
