Here’s what the Ninjala dev team had to say about the monumental achievement:

We hope you are enjoying the world of Ninjala.

We are happy to announce that Ninjala has achieved 4 million downloads worldwide!
We wish to express our deepest gratitude to all our users for your support.

The following items have been distributed via in-game email as a commemorative gift celebrating 4 million downloads. Please be sure to claim them during the designated distribution period.

The commemorative gift contains a whopping 100 Jala for you to buy items from the in-game Ninjala shop for cosmetics. Players will have until the end of October to claim the reward.

I reviewed Ninjala earlier this year and scored it a 4/5, which is a “great” on Twinfinite’s scale. I praised the charming art style, visual presentation, and enjoyable combat system, but was found disappointed with the lack of content.

Here’s a snippet from the review:

At the end of the day, Ninjala is a surprisingly entertaining free-to-play game that doesn’t require players to pull out their wallets to have a little fun.

The microtransactions are all cosmetic, free content is on its way to add even more depth, and the visual style just oozes with charm.

If you have a Switch laying around, there’s no reason not to download Ninjala and give it a shot.

Twinfinite also had the opportunity to speak to the president and CEO of GungHo Online Entertainment, Kazuki Morishita, to talk about where the concept of Ninjala came from, the lore of the world, and more. You can read the entire Q&A here.
