Xbox One Game – Little Nightmares
Xbox Games with Gold Predictions
It’s time for some Xbox Games with Gold free games predictions while we wait for the offical list for August 2020 to be released by Microsoft sometime in the coming weeks.
First off, Microsoft often releases one Xbox One title and one Xbox 360 title on Games with Gold, so kicking off the list on Xbox One we predict Little Nightmares would be a perfect inclusion for a few different reasons.
Firstly, Little Nightmares is published by Bandai Namco who has had several of its game offered on Games with Gold in the past. This includes:
- Dark Souls in June 2014
- Project CARS in February 2017
- Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion in March 2019
- Tekken 6 in January 2020
- Project CARS 2 in April 2020, and more.
Secondly, a sequel to Little Nightmares is set to release sometime in 2020. It makes sense for its developer Tarsier Studios and Bandai Namco to consider offering it for free on Games with Gold to encourage more people to play the original in order to pick up the sequel when it releases sometime in the next few months.
In May 2020 it was announced Little Nightmares has surpassed over two million copies sold, which is an amazing feat for a small and new indie development team.
If we don’t see Little Nightmares next month, expect it sometime soon. Likely around the time an offical release date is given for Little Nightmares II.
Xbox 360 Game – Portal 2
Xbox Games with Gold Predictions
Often a Xbox 360 game makes it on the Games with Gold free games list every month as well, and for August 2020 we suspect Portal 2 will be offered.
Portal 2 is a legendarily revered platformer that Xbox owners would love to have, and it’s surprising it has yet to be offered on Games with Gold at all since its release 9 years ago.
Microsoft has also already offered the first Portal game on Games with Gold last year in June 2019 via the Xbox port of the game entitled Portal: Still Alive. It originally released exclusively on the Xbox Live Arcade way back in 2008.
Once an entry in a series is offered on Games with Gold, Microsoft will often opt to include its sequels in the future since the relationship with that developer has already been established.
Like the entire Gears of War series being offered for free on Games with Gold starting way back in 2015, or most entries of the Hitman series starting with Hitman: Absolution back in 2014.
Make sure to check back with Twinfinite in the next week or so when the Xbox Games with Gold free games for August 2020 are revealed to see if any of our predictions were correct.
