There’s a hot, coveted new item on the blocks in Animal Crossing New Horizons right now, Star Fragment Trees. Star Fragments are used to create a number of rare items, but can only be obtained by wishing upon stars flying through the sky. These Star Fragment Trees cut out the frustration and allow you to get them incredibly easily. Here’s what you need to know on how to get Star Fragment Trees in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Getting Star Fragment Trees
The bad news is that these trees cannot be obtained in any legitimate way in the game. That means that Star Fragment Trees can only be obtained through hacking the game.
As such, these are incredibly unstable items and have a chance of corrupting your save and breaking your game.
If you do get offered a Star Fragment Tree on an online forum, we’d recommend against accepting it. While the seller may not have any malicious intent, the unstable nature of this item doesn’t make it worth the risk.
What Happens If You Bury Star Fragments?
The answer is nothing. Burying Star Fragments will simply have them show up as a buried item (an X on the ground). It won’t sprout into a Star Fragment Tree, so don’t waste your time trying.
If Nintendo make any changes in future patches and make these Star Fragment Trees a legitimate item in the game, we’ll be sure to update this post and let you know. For now, though, it’ll be down to you to decide whether you want to take the risk of losing your island in favor of having an easy source of Star Fragments.
