How Long Resident Evil 3 Remake Takes to Beat

resident evil 3 remake, how long to beat, game length

Resident Evil 3 Remake is another elaborate reimagining of a 1990s survival horror, following on from last year’s Resident Evil 2 Remake. Thanks to the brilliant RE Engine, revised controls, and a few surprises along the way, it’s a solid continuation of Capcom’s mission to update its classic library of games. That said, it won’t take you very long to do so. If you’re wondering exactly how long Resident Evil 3 Remake takes to beat then here’s your answer.

How Long Resident Evil 3 Remake Takes to Beat

Resident Evil 3 is a very short game, taking Twinfinite just under seven hours to beat on the first playthrough and around three hours on a second playthrough on Hardcore Mode. These times are not including cutscenes, measured by the in-game clock. All up, Resident Evil 3 Remake is roughly an eight-hour experience.

That’s only for completionists who are taking their time, though, as we did on our first playthrough. However, obviously once you know the answers to the puzzles and enemy locations and you’re skipping cutscenes, a second playthrough could take you as little as two and a half hours to beat.

Of course, it’s worth pointing out that Resident Evil 3 Remake comes with a multiplayer mode called Resistance. This is actually a separate game that comes free (it’s not packed into the main game and accessible from the menu, oddly enough). Regardless, there is extra value there.

Still, either way you cut it, Resident Evil 3 Remake is short. Comically short, in fact. While it’s true that its predecessor was also short, at least it was highly replayable, offering a different version of the experience depending on which character and/or scenario you chose. Resident Evil 3 Remake does not offer the same feature.
