How to Melee Attack in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot
A key component of Dragon Ball Z Kakarot’s gameplay, melee attacks are your primary method of inflicting damage on opponents. They’re easy to execute too: All you need to do is press the B Button on Xbox One or the Circle Button on PlayStation 4, and you’ll be able to bombard your opponent with a stream of martial arts-based blows.
These are also the only buttons you’ll need to press to execute melee attacks. There aren’t separate buttons that you use for heavy and light attacks, and every special melee attack is likewise linked to this single button in some fashion.

How to Use Special Melee Attacks
Speaking of Special Melee Attacks, Dragon Ball Z Kakarot has melee techniques that utilize Ki to inflict greater damage.
These techniques require slightly different inputs and conditions to be met to use them; namely, that you have a certain amount of Ki available and press another button in addition to the attack button.
To use these techniques, hold down the L1 or LB button. This will open up a quick-select menu of techniques you can use, with a face button assigned to each technique.
From there, all you need to do is press the face button, and so long as you have enough Ki, you’ll execute the technique.
