Best December 2019 Stardew Valley Mods

Sometimes taking the long way around Pelican Bay can seem like a chore. That’s why this mod creates some new shortcuts to make traversing the world of Stardew Valley a little easier.

The new shortcuts includes:

  • A forest path from above Joja Mart to the quarry bridge.
  • A shortcut from the playground to the mountains.
  • A road from the library to the right side of the beach.
  • A coastal road from the bottom left corner of the forest to the beach.
  • A staircase to the road from the backwoods.
  • A small bridge from one of the mountain islands to the mine.
  • A staircase down to the riverside next to the Community Center.

All the shortcuts have a toggle on/off feature, and include no custom textures so they fit in seamlessly with the base world.

The designs even work with the immensely popular Stardew Valley Expanded mod as well.

Get Glam

Best December 2019 Stardew Valley Mods

This mod is a rewrite of the popular GetDressed/Kisekae download for Stardew Valley 1.4. It includes the dresser item and all the face and nose options from Get Dressed.

The content packs include accessories, dressers, faces, noses, hairstyles, shoes, and skin colors. The newest addition is the option to make your character bald, which has not been offered in the previous content packs before.

If you want more farmer customization options in Stardew Valley 1.4, then you will want to download this one for sure.

Better Workbenches

Best December 2019 Stardew Valley Mods

This mod adds a small but helpful change to workbenches in Stardew Valley.

Now workbenches can access items from all connected chests, not just adjacent ones. This means you won’t have to be running all around your farm to find that one item you have been looking for.

It’s worth noting that this mod only works for a player in multiplayer if they also have it downloaded themselves.

Producer Framework Mod

Best December 2019 Stardew Valley Mods

Likely the most popular mod out in December, this one allows you to add custom rules for producing objects.

This is great for mod creators who want to spawn items, but with their own source code they can create with custom rules. It also supports code and content pack interfaces.

Detailed Foliage

Best December 2019 Stardew Valley Mods

This beautiful mod adds new foliage to the game that makes all four seasons in Stardew Valley look almost new.

As you can see in the image above, almost every environmental outdoor sprite has been given some new details that makes the overall aesthetic of the game look a lot softer.

The template and palette fits in nicely with the base game, so the sprites won’t look out of place.

Seasonal Path, Flooring, and Fences

Best December 2019 Stardew Valley Mods

Another very popular mod, this mod from creator Hesper includes a collection of seasonal paths and flooring that will make the change of seasons in Stardew Valley even more apparent.

Paths and floors will not have a slightly different color based on the season, and some like fall and spring will include fallen leaves and flower petals on the ground as well.

Also out last month is another mod from Hesper that adds seasonal fences as well. These two mods are meant to be used together, as the fences also change in appearance depending on the season.

Better Crops and Foraging

Best December 2019 Stardew Valley Mods

This mod changes all the harvestable crops and foraging items to be more realistic by noticeably toning down their color.

It’s goal is to make farming and foraging in Stardew Valley a little easier on the eyes by losing the dramatic color of some of the sprites.

New Town Design

Best December 2019 Stardew Valley Mods

This detailed mod includes a complete overhaul in the appearance of the main Pelican Town area in Stardew Valley. Its admittedly a work in process, but already includes a ton of new details.

There is now a statute of a Pelican in town square, tons of more details on the buildings like the Stardrop Saloon and Pierre’s General Store, and the gardens and paths leading around town now look a lot more detailed as well.

It’s like a fresh coat of paint for your town if the same old appearance has gotten a little old.

Sprite Contours

Best December 2019 Stardew Valley Mods

This mod offers a slight tweak in visuals that makes the sprites pop just that little bit more.

Once installed, all the original sprites in the game will now have smooth and crisp contours. The change is slight, but when you compare a before and after image of the changes you can tell the visuals are indeed improved.

It also works with pretty much every other mod out there.

Home Sewing Kit

Best December 2019 Stardew Valley Mods

If you want your farmer to develop a new hobby, this mod allows them to use a new craftable Sewing Machine and Dye Cabinet while at home.

The recipes for these items are sold by Robin for 1000g each after Emily has visited you to unlock the Tailoring mechanic.
