Beat Saber won VR Game of the Year, beating out Blade & Sorcery, Gorn, Borderlands 2 VR, and Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted.

The Labor of Love award, for games with ongoing support, went to Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V. Other games in the category included Warframe, Rainbow Six Siege, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Dota 2.

The Better With Friends award went to DayZ, which officially launched on Steam last December, over Risk of Rain 2, Dota Underlords, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, and Ring of Elysium.

Most Innovative Gameplay award went to My Friend Pedro over Baba is You, Slay the Spire, Oxygen Not Included, and Planet Zoo.

Outstanding Story-Rich Game award went to A Plague Tale: Innocence over other nominations Disco Elysium, Far Cry New Dawn, Gears 5, GreedFall.

The Best Game You Suck At award went to Mortal Kombat 11, while the Outstanding Visual Style award went to Gris.

The Steam Awards 2019 games were nominated by Steam users but were restricted to games released after November 2018, except the Labor of Love category, unlike previous years which allowed any game sold in Steam’s catalog.
