Is There a Difficulty Trophy or Achievement in Shenmue 3?

Long story short, no. There are no difficulty-related trophies or achievements in Shenmue 3, which should come as a bit of a relief to players who don’t necessarily like playing their video games on the highest difficulty level.

Difficulty trophies and achievements have become increasingly commonplace in modern video games, but thankfully, Shenmue 3 doesn’t have any of those.

There are also four difficulty settings to choose from:

  • Easy: Story Mode
  • Normal: Recommended Mode
  • Hard: Challenge Mode
  • Hardest: Nightmare Mode

Enemies will get tougher on higher settings, and you’ll take more damage. However, if the gameplay and melee combat aren’t really your thing, you can still enjoy the story and journey by playing on Story or Recommended Mode, and you should be able to get through it pretty easily.

In addition to that, Shenmue 3 also gives you the added benefit of being able to change your difficulty setting anytime you want. All you have to do is head into the Settings menu and tweak it from there. That way, if you feel like the game is too easy or too challenging, you can change up the setting to suit your own preferences.

Is there a difficulty trophy or achievement in Shenmue 3?

No there isn’t. The game also allows you to change settings from the menu at any point in time.

That’s all you need to know about whether Shenmue 3 has a difficulty trophy or achievement. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
