During the X019 Inside Xbox livestream, Microsoft announced a bunch of Square Enix titles, but a relevant game was missing, Final Fantasy XIV.
Yet, not all hope is lost: Xbox division head Phil Spencer talked to the press before the show and promised to work with Square Enix to bring the popular MMORPG to his platform as reported by The Verge.
“I wanted you to know, rest assured that we will be bringing that game to Xbox. We have a great relationship with Yoshida-san [Final Fantasy XIV producer and director Naoki Yoshida] and we’re working through what it means to bring [to Xbox] a cross-platform MMO that they’ve run for years.”
Unfortunately, no release window was provided, but it’s awesome to hear that Xbox users will finally be able to join PS4 and PC players on one of the best MMORPGs ever developed.
Of course, we’ll let you know as soon as we hear more, but for now we’ll have to wait for further details.
