Today Hideo Kojima revealed some interesting artwork and information about his game Death Stranding during a livestream hosted by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
we get to see an early look at the Sam, Fragile’s umbrellla, a cityscape, and more.
You can enjoy it below.
Interestingly, Kojima-san mentioned that one of the things he likes to create was the image of traveling, providing a sense of loneliness. This kind of concept has been incorporated into the background and into the design process of the game.
That was the backbone of the creation of the Death Stranding world.
That being said, Kojima-san revealed that the opposite of what we see was tested, and the game’s unique traversal could have been completely different.
“In fact, as we saw Sam traveling in the previous clip, we also tested exactly the opposite of things, which makes him wear the heavy power gears and carry a lot of devices and weapons, which could technically enable him to jump all over those places. It’s not something new.
Therefore I decided not to do this in the middle of the process.”
If you want to know more about Death Stranding, you can enjoy plenty of gameplay from PlayStation Festival in Japan, a trailer showcasing the Sea Otter hood and a cameo with Conan o’Brien, another from Japan, the previous one, another promotional video, the latest gameplay, and a previous batch of footage.
Of course, you should also watch the launch trailer, which is as beautiful as it is cryptic.
Death Stranding releases for PS4 tomorrow, November 8, 2019 (it’s actually being rolled out right now in some countries depending on the time zones), and for PC in summer 2020.
