First off, it’s important to know what quickscoping is. To do it, you need to aim down the sights of a sniper and shoot before you’ve fully aimed in. It’s essentially aiming and shooting in one quick motion.

It helps you be a little bit more accurate with your snipers shots, without having to waste the time aiming fully. It has been a thing in Call of Duty for a long time, stretching back to the M40A3 sniper with an ACOG Scope back in Call of Duty 4.

How to Quickscope in Modern Warfare

As we said, the actual action of quickscoping in Modern Warfare is just you shooting while you’re aiming with a sniper, there’s nothing more to it than that.

However, what you’re probably looking for here is tips on how to be more successful with it.

The first thing to say is that a lot of it is down to preference and practice. When you first get the sniper loaded up and head into a game with the plan of trying to quickscope opponents, you’ll miss a lot.

Just as is the case with shooting generally in the game, you’ll improve as you do it more, as you learn the intricacies of it and the exact timings needed. Over time, it’ll become muscle memory and you’ll be getting it right a lot more regularly.

Quickscoping isn’t something that is easy though, so prepare to be at least a little bit frustrated as you try to get it right.

The other thing that we’d recommend doing is choosing a sniper that feels good to you and adding attachments that do the same.

While it’s possible with all snipers, the Dragunov or AX-50 are the best options, and it will be good to equip things like stocks that help with stability and sights that aren’t quite as long distance.

You’re unlikely to be trying to kill enemies with a quickscope in Modern Warfare if they’re really far away, so there’s not that much need for a full sized scope.

However, it’s best to just tinker with different options until you get one that feels good to you and then practise with it as much as you can.

That’s everything you need to know about how to quickscope in Modern Warfare. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure check out our Modern Warfare wiki guide. We have also listed some other helpful guides on the game down below.
