Code Vein is the latest third-person action RPG from Bandai Namco, and it’s definitely worth a look if you’re a fan of the stamina-based combat system from the Souls games. Here’s how to get and use Blood Codes in Code Vein.
What Code Vein Blood Codes Are
If you take a look at your character menu, you’ll see the Blood Code option right in the middle of your screen. Depending on the kind of Code you have equipped, your available weapons, gear, and Gifts will change.
This is because your Code alters your stats and weapon affinities, affecting your ability to wield or equip certain types of weapons.
How to Use Them
Once you’ve obtained a Blood Code, bring up your character menu by pressing the Options button, then navigating to the central slot and selecting that.
This will bring up a list of all the Codes you have so far, so just pick the one that you want to equip. After that, don’t forget to equip your passive and active Gifts as well, as some of them might not be compatible with your new Code.
How to Get Blood Codes in Code Vein
Most Codes can be obtained by simply progressing through the story naturally. However, there are a few select ones that can only be gotten if you explore certain areas properly.
In addition to that, as you find Vestige items in the world, you can turn them into Io back at Home Base, and she can enhance your existing Codes, or even allow you to access new ones as you revive those memories.
