First things first, you’ll need to make sure that you’ve dealt a significant amount of damage to an enemy, but not fully wiped out their health bar. At this point, you’ll now need to start closing the distance (if there is any) between you and your enemy.

When you’re up close, you then need to simply hold down X on Xbox One or Square on PS4, which the game will prompt you to press on-screen. Press and hold the corresponding button when this appears and wait for the Finisher bar to fill up.

This will trigger the Finisher animation in The Surge 2. Once this has finished playing out, your enemy will be no more and you’ll be standing there lookin’ all bad-ass after slicing through them.

Keep in mind though that if an enemy attacks you before the bar for the Finisher is completely full, it will hurt and stagger you, taking you out of the animation and preventing the move from being finished. You’ll then need to press and hold that button again in the hope you don’t get interrupted this time.

To summarize, to preform a finisher in The Surge 2:

  1. Chip away at the enemy’s health bar until it’s almost depleted.

  2. Get close to your target and look out for the on-screen prompt.

  3. Press and hold Square on PS4 or X on Xbox One

Wait until the Finisher bar is filled and the animation will play out.

  4. Avoid getting hit while the Finisher bar fills up.

If you do, you’ll be staggered, take damage, and won’t pull off the move.

That’s all you need to know on how to execute a finisher in The Surge 2. For more tips, tricks, and guides, be sure to search for Twinfinite, or check out more of our guides below.
