With a charming cartoon-esque visual style and all the bizarre gameplay that makes the game such a classic, the remake is well worth checking out for veterans and newcomers alike. Here’s how to get more hearts and health in Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening.

First off, if you’re looking to simply recover hearts that you’ve lost getting hit by an enemy, you’ll be able to find these little hearts by cutting grass and defeating enemies, as well as running into fairies.

Grass can be found all over the place, and enemies well, you’ll know when you’ve run into one. Fairies are often found after boss battles or tough enemies and will heal 10 hearts of health.

They can be put in bottles if you’ve got one in your inventory to be saved for later by using the bottle when standing next to a fairy.

To increase your maximum health in Link’s Awakening and get more hearts as a result, you’ll need to collect heart fragments.

Heart fragments can be found all throughout the game and for doing all kinds of things. They can be won in the Trendy Game Shop, earned by arranging dungeons, found in caves, and in chests in dungeons.

Additionally, every time you beat a boss fight in one of Link’s Awakening’s dungeons, you’ll get a full heart container, bumping your maximum health up immediately.
