To help players get used to the basics and controls of FIFA, EA Sports introduced ‘Trainer’ a few games ago. Problem is, if you don’t need to use it, it’s incredibly annoying to have it in the way while playing. Here’s how to turn Trainer off in FIFA 20.
Turning Off Trainer in FIFA 20
To turn off trainer in FIFA 20, you’ll still have to pause the game once the match starts. You can then select the ‘Trainer’ tile, and change the status to ‘Hide’ as opposed to ‘Show.’
Doing this in any of FIFA 20’s online modes will save this change permanently so you won’t have to do it again. However, it is worth noting that if you’re playing in Kick-Off mode with a friend, you’ll both have to turn ‘Trainer’ off using the process above.
Kick-Off also requires you to do this every time you start up FIFA 20 to play the mode. It’s still annoying, and we’re still not sure why it doesn’t just save as it does for online modes.
What Is the Trainer?
This is basically a little semi-transparent box that appears next to the player you’re controlling in a match.
It will provide suggestions on what you might want to do with the ball, with the button inputs for how to do each one shown next to them.
This can be useful for beginners just trying to get into FIFA 20, but it won’t offer the full range of different passing, crossing, and shooting options that the game has to offer.
To find all of these, you’ll need to dive into the ‘Controls’ option from the Settings menu in the game to find a full list.
