Should You Choose Ramsden or Holder in Borderlands 3’s On the Blood Path Side Mission?

In the side mission On the Blood Path, you’ll follow a series of fairly straightforward quest objectives right up until the end.

You’ll have to decide between opening the door for Ramsden or siding with Holder instead.

Choosing Ramsden

If you choose Ramsden, you’ll need to kill Holder and a bunch of adds. At the end of the fight, you’ll be rewarded with the unique Fingerbiter shotgun. It’s a rare shotgun with the following perks:

  • +108% Weapon Damage
  • +10% Critical Hit Damage
  • +25% Reload Speed
  • 3.5x Weapon Zoom

As far as shotguns go, this one’s pretty decent, though nothing really special to write home about.

Choosing Holder

If you choose Holder, you’ll have to kill Ramsden and a few other adds as well. At the end of the fight, you’re rewarded with a shield that gives you a 180% boost in melee damage when it’s depleted.

So basically, both rewards aren’t all that great. The shield itself is alright if you have a melee-focused build, but otherwise, there are plenty of other great shield options out there.

If you’re undecided between Holder or Ramsden, we’d recommend choosing Ramsden as the shotgun at least has a bit more utility than the shield itself.

That’s all you need to know about choosing Ramsden or Holder in Borderlands 3. Be sure to check our Borderlands 3 guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
