borderlands 3 mailbox

The Borderlands 3 mailbox is your portal to all of that bonus content you may have earned by preordering the game, picking up one of the Deluxe or Collector’s Editions, or just as a promotional offer from Gearbox Software. Problem is, some players are having trouble finding exactly where it is. Let’s talk you through how to access Borderlands 3‘s mailbox, check your mail, and get items.

How to Check the Mailbox in Borderlands 3

Checking your mail is actually incredibly easy if you know how. There are two ways you can do this depending on where you are in the game.

If you’re at Borderlands 3’s main menu, then simply select the ‘Social’ option. This should then bring up the ‘Roster’ screen, which shows all of your friends. However, by tabbing over to the mail icon, you can access your Mailbox.

Alternatively, you can access this ‘Social’ screen, and therefore check your mail at any time in Borderlands 3 by pressing the following inputs while in-game:

PCEsc

After doing this, it’s simply a case of tabbing back over to that envelope icon at the top of the screen.

Why You Should Check Your Mail

Checking your mail should be a pretty frequent thing you’re doing, regardless of whether or not your preordered the game or got any special edition of Borderlands 3.

That’s because Gearbox Software at any time could send out a cool promotional item or cosmetic for players to enjoy, or some Gold Keys (we can dream, right?) that could help you open those locked chests you’re finding everywhere.

Redeeming Borderlands 3 Mailbox Items

If you do have things to redeem in your mail, simply select the message and then press E on PC, X on PS4, or A on Xbox One to ‘Accept’ the items. You’ll then be able to find them in your inventory ready and waiting to be swapped into your loadout.

That’s everything you need to know about Borderlands 3’s mailbox. For more tips, tricks, and guides, be sure to check out our ever-expanding guide wiki.
