The Demonical Cult quest is a long one, with 18 different objectives making it up, and it involves you doing some investigation work for Sister Ephesia and annoying the natives of Teer Fradee’s wilderness.

After a short while, you’ll begin to follow a man who you suspect is involved in some sort of cult ritual. He will lead you to a cave and you need to work out how to get inside.

This is the candles puzzle and it involves you lighting six candles in the correct order, but Greedfall doesn’t give you any clue on how to solve it.

Every time you fail it, you need to fight off a group of flying creature enemies, so you’ll want to do it a quickly as possible.

It’s also important to note that not all the candles you see in the circle are needed, with the ones you need to interact with having the black main quest symbol appear above them after interacting them once.

The correct order for lighting the candles is:

  1. Wind

  2. Lightning

  3. Fire

  4. Death

  5. Water

  6. Life

You’ll be able to interact with each candle in the candle puzzle once to work out what they are, but after that you need to do it in the correct order if you want to avoid combat.

Once you’ve done it in the correct order, the door to the cave that the man went through will open and you’ll see a cutscene of the natives’ blood ritual.
