Hot off the heels of the Japanese release date for Star Ocean First Departure R, Square Enix has shared an English version of the trailer showing that the game will also be coming West at the same time, on December 5, 2019. You can watch the trailer down below.
Star Ocean First Departure R completely updates the first entry in the prolific RPG franchise, balancing gameplay features and adding on entirely new artwork.
At the same time, the game will feature full English and Japanese voiceovers, and the trailer below shows off who’ll be voicing both versions.
The voiceovers are the same ones featured in the PSP version of the game, although there’s also a newly recorded voiceover featuring the voice cast from the original Japanese Super Famicom version of the game.
Headling the English cast is Yuri Lowenthal as Roddick followed by Katie Leigh as Millie, Sam Gold as Ronyx J. Kenny, and Julia Maddelena as Ilia Silvestri.
The Japanese cast, on the other hand, features Mamoru Miyano as Roddick, Hitomi Nabatame as Millie, Kenji Hamada as Ronyx J. Kenny, and Sanae Kobayashi as Ilia Silvestri.
Star Ocean First Departure R launches on December 5 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. IF you missed it, you can also check out the first screenshots from the game as well as details on new features.
