The gameplay was presented during a livestream hosted by the Japanese magazine Dengeki PlayStation, played directly on PS4 by Producer Yosuke Futami, who provided a look at the demo that will be playable in two days at a dedicated event in Tokyo.

We get to see the village of Rulid, and plenty of battle gameplay with Alice and Kirito. Incidentally, the game looks much, much better compared to what we’re used to.

We even get to take a look at the game, and at a rather hectic boss battle.

You can watch it below.

On top of the livestream, the official Twitter account of the series showcased a second smaller portion of gameplay of the second stage included in the game, “Central Cathedral 99F.”

It’s a very iconic battle in the anime, so if you have not seen the first part of the series and plan to (or simply want to be surprised by the game’s story), you may want to avoid the video below, because it’s pretty much a spoiler.

Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris is coming for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. A release date has not been announced, but we might hear more at the event on Sunday.
