As a game on the original PlayStation, Final Fantasy VIII’s visuals were pretty impressive for their time, but at times the character models and textures could look a little crude.
This required a bit of suspension of disbelief when comparing the beautiful looks of our favorite heroes in cutscenes, and their appearance during gameplay.
The discrepancy reached a high point of comedic value in a certain scene in which Rinoa complimented’s Squall’s handsome appearance… even if the screen told a very different story.
Apparently, things have changed on the remaster, and now Squall can finally be “the best looking guy” at the party. For real.
