Warframe’s latest and greatest feature, Nightwave, is perfect for players who have finished the game’s story missions, want a break from the narrative, or just want to stand out in a crowd. Nightwave’s sassy host Nora Night has her own proprietary shop filled with must-own items. Here’s how to get Nighwave (Emissary Creds) in Warframe.
What Are Nightwave Creds and How They Are Used
Nightwave is divided into different Series, each with its own rewards and Creds. Currently, we are in the middle of the second Series: The Emissary, and the Creds this time around are called Emissary Creds. Much like the Wolf Creds from the previous Nightwave Series, The Wolf of Saturn Six, Emissary Creds are only usable in Nora Night’s Cred Offering store.
Each week, Night rotates the items on sale, so you should check back occasionally to see what’s available. You can buy various aura mods, cosmetic weapon and helmet blueprints, Orokin Catalysts and Reactors, and even Vauban component blueprints. Item prices range from 15 to 75 Creds each.
However, Emissary Creds are only valid while the Emissary Series is active. If you sit on your Creds instead of spending them, they will be almost useless once The Emissary ends. I say almost useless because you can always sell unspent Creds at 5,000 Credits a pop.
The Cred confusion doesn’t end there, though. After each Series, Nora Night throws an Intermission party with its own set of rewards, including Creds specific to that Intermission. Just like a normal Nightwave Series, you can spend these Creds at the Cred Offering store and sell leftover ones when the Intermission is over.
How to Earn Nightwave Creds
Emissary Creds, like all Nightwave rewards, are earned by increasing your Nightwave Rank. Each Rank requires 10,000 Standing (more on that in a bit), but not all Ranks provide Emissary Creds. Your jaw might drop when you receive 150 Emissary Creds at Rank 1, but you will only receive 50 Emissary Creds when you reach Ranks 6, 12, 16, 21, and 24.
This is an improvement over the previous Series, which only awarded 50 Wolf Creds at Ranks 3, 6, 12, 16, 20, and 24.
Now, you probably wonder how to earn Emissary Creds after Rank 24, especially since you can only increase your Nightwave reputation up to Rank 30. If you wish, you can prestige and reset your rank back to 0. Each new Rank will reward you with 15 Emissary Creds, so don’t prestige and assume you will earn another extra Warframe slot at Rank 14.
During an Intermission, however, you can only increase your reputation up to Rank 15, with no option to prestige. More importantly, once a Series or Intermission is finished, your reputation resets to 0, so don’t worry about ranking up too high in one Series. Grind as much Standing as you want to earn as many Creds as possible.
How to Earn Standing
Since you can only gain Emissary Creds by ranking up, you will need all the Standing you can get. Standing is earned by completing Acts, which are just challenges you will complete as you play Warframe.
Acts are divided into three categories: Daily, Weekly, and Elite Weekly. Daily Acts are introduced daily and only last three days each, while Weekly and Elite Weekly Acts differ from week to week. As you might expect, Daily Acts are the easiest to complete, usually requiring simple tasks such as “Complete a mission” or “Play 1 emote.”
Meanwhile, Elite Weekly Acts involve grueling challenges, including “Complete 10 Nightmare missions of any type” and “Survive over 30 minutes in Kuva Survival.”
Since Daily Acts are easy, they only provide 1,000 Standing each. However, Weekly Acts reward 4,500 Standing, and Elite Weekly Acts net you a whopping 7,000 Standing. Intermissions, meanwhile, award 6,000 Standing for Weekly Acts and 9,000 Standing for Elite Weekly Acts.
To increase your Rank as fast as possible, focus on the Elite Weekly and Weekly Acts. Once you have finished those acts, try to complete Daily Acts, well, daily. Depending on what’s on tap, you might complete a Daily Act while in the middle of an Elite Weekly.
On the other hand, the “Kill 150 enemies with magnetic damage” Daily is impossible without weapons and Warframe abilities that deal magnetic damage, so pay close attention to the available Acts.
This guide will be updated as new Nightwave Series and currency are introduced.
