Diamondback Exotic Rifle Details

While you can’t actually get your hands on the weapon in Division 2 right now, we know what it is and how it’ll work. It is a lever actioned rifle with a magazine that holds five rounds and fires at 100 PRM.

As for its talents, they have been outlined by the update’s patch notes. They are:

  •  Agonizing Bite – Diamondback randomly marks an enemy. Hitting that enemy consumes the mark, guaranteeing a critical hit with +20% total damage. A new random enemy is marked afterwards, and whenever you reload.
  • Deep Fangs – After hitting 5 marked enemies, gain +50% reload speed, +20% total damage and all shots fired are guaranteed critical hits for 10s.
  • Shedding Skin – While drawn, each time a round is loaded, gain +20% bonus armor for 3s. While holstered, each time you reload or cycle your current weapon, gain +8% bonus armor for 2s.

Therefore, combining speed and accuracy is the key to success with the Diamondback Exotic Rifle in Division 2. As you work your way through the enemies that you mark with the weapon, you’ll get more powerful.

Therefore, it’s smart to watch the marked enemies and take them out in sequence to maximize the effect of the talents.

How to Get the Diamondback Exotic Rifle in Division 2

Now, since the Diamondback is actually split into parts that you need to collect, you’re going to have to wait a couple of weeks until you can actually use it. The parts are rewards that are tied into the game’s new Expedition missions.

Currently, there is only one Expedition active, which is called The Convoy. The other two are due to release soon (July 30 and Aug. 6 to be exact) and you will need to complete all of them before the Diamondback is given to you.

For now, simply complete the first Expedition that’s in Division 2 now and wait until the next one. If you’re planning on completing them all anyway, you’ll get the weapon eventually, you’ll just have to wait a little longer. It can be frustrating that Ubisoft do it like this, but that’s how it goes.
