Dotemu (the French developer behind Streets of Rage 4) released a trailer today announcing the return of composers Yūzō Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima.

These two are most commonly known for their previous work on the Streets of Rage series while also redefining the type of music and sounds gamers could listen to back in the early 90s.

For a good while now fans have been eagerly awaiting this announcement as they were unsure if the classic composers of the previous games would be returning.

In this trailer, we can see the two composers playing the new iteration of the storied beat ’em up franchise while recounting memories and stories about the development of the previous entries.

They discuss how they struggled with trying to decide if the soundtrack of the new game should be a newer style of music with all the tools they have at their disposal now, or if they should use old technology in order to recreate the classic sound from the older titles.

Also, other composers from the industry have been added onto the project such as Yoko Shimomura (who worked on titles such as Street Fighter II and the Kingdom Hearts series), Hideki Naganuma (known for his work on Jet Set Radio and Super Monkey Ball), and finally Keiji Yamagishi (famous for working on Ninja Gaiden and Tecmo Bowl).

For more information on the game, you may check out a recent interview with the developers in which they discuss various aspects of the game, such as the new art style and remaining faithful to the previous titles or you can also view the last gameplay trailer here.
